bircher muesli with fig and pear

Featuring the new heartthrob of big breakfasts! Bircher muesli is to Switzerland what Budwig cream is to Germany. Invented by a Swiss physician for patients in his medical clinic, it’s different from muesli because of the soaked grains. The composition of this breakfast item known for its smooth texture makes this Swiss specialty a true energy bomb.

Preparation : 15 minutes

Efficiency : 3 minutes

Refrigeration : 12 hours

1. In a bowl, mix the oats, milk and yogurt. Cover and refrigerate for at least 12 hours.

2. In a saucepan, lightly caramelize the figs and pears in the butter and honey. Leave to cool in a bowl.

3. Grate the apples while preserving the peel and add them to the oat mixture. Add milk as needed to adjust the consistency. 4 Pour into 4 bowls and garnish with the caramelized fruit. Sprinkle with the hazelnuts or pecans, and drizzle with honey to taste.
